Administrative or Biographical History The Automobile Lodge in East Moline was an Odd Fellow Lodge and it merged with the Swedish Olive Lodge at the end of the 1940s. From the material in this collection, it is not clear when the Automobile Lodge was founded. The main function of the lodge was to provide financial assistance to members when ill and unable to work. The lodge also provided benefits to beneficiaries of deceased members.
Scope & Content The collection consists of minutes from meetings 1919-1932, which provide details on lodge activities. The correspondence, 1922-1933 contains letters to and from the Grand Lodge in Springfield and correspondence with other lodges around the country. The membership records include names, date of birth and place of residence and various certificates issued by the lodge. The financial records 1916-1930 include semi-annual reports, income and disbursement books, and other cashbooks.
