Administrative or Biographical History Johan Peter Lindström was born in Böne parish, Elfsborgs län October 25, 1826. He and his wife Anna C. Grönlund immigrated in 1852 and settled in St. Charles, Illinois. The couple had 12 children. J.P. Lindström served as lay preacher in the St. Charles/Geneva area and later in Paxton and Moline.

Their son Anders Peter Lindström was born on February 25, 1849 in Böne parish, Elfsborgs län. He was ordained in Altona, Illinois June of 1882 and served the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church congregations in Muskegon, Michigan; Chandlers Valley, Pennsylvania; New Windsor, Illinois. He was also the president for the New York Conference and served the Children's Homes in Andover, Illinois and Brooklyn, New York. He married Inga Olson on Jun 14, 1874 and they had 5 children.
Scope & Content The papers include a handwritten diary by Johan Peter Lindstrom 1863-1869, a copy of Anders Peter Lindstrom's (son of J.P. Lindstrom) autobiography and a typewritten translation of the same by his daughter Mrs. A. L. Lindorff. Included are also portraits of Rev. Anders Peter and Inga Lindstrom; Nels Forsberg; Tuve Nilsson Hasselquist; Carl A. Evald. There are also about 20 unidentified photographs.
