Description A 1946 Booker T. Washington Silver Half Dollar. The coin bears Booker T. Washington's portrait on the heads side of the coin. Inscribed around the coin is, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - BOOKER T. WASHINGTON". Inscribed by his right ear is, 1946 - HALF - DOLLAR". Inscribed by his left eye is, "E PLURBUS - UNUM". On the tails side on the coin is the log cabin where Booker T. Washington was born as well as the Hall of Fame at New York University. Inscribed around the coin is, "LIBERTY - BOOKER T. WASHINGTON BIRTHPLACE MEMORIAL". Inscribed in the middle of the coin between the log cabin and the Hall of Fame are the words, "FROM SLAVE CABIN - TO HALL OF FAME - IN GOD - WE - TRUST - FRANKLIN - COUNTY - VA."
